2017 Categories & Winners
Congratulations to the winners of the Asian Private Banker Structured Products Awards for Excellence 2017!
Structured Product Gatekeepers
Winners are determined by the votes of the region’s leading gatekeepers who select who they believe to be the most distinguished providers in the industry across various asset classes and structures. The evolution of private banking and the regulatory landscape has and will continue to shape how structured products providers service their clients as wealth houses look to enhance their advisory offerings. To that end, Asian Private Banker has identified four key competencies for our voters to select their choice of provider: pricing competitiveness, innovation and structuring capabilities, client services, and market share.
- Pricing competitiveness
This is a quantitative metric used to assess the pricing competitiveness of the provider, based on the relevant award category. Participants are asked to assess candidates based on the frequency at which the provider has outpriced market competitors on the same product.
- Innovation and structuring capabilities
This is a qualitative metric used to assess the ability of the providers to innovate or structure solutions. Participants are asked to assess candidates ability to provide solutions, with varying pay-off structures and underliers, and provide real examples of outstanding cases where leading manufacturing capabilities were demonstrated.
- Client services
This a qualitative metric used to assess the added value providers offer through various aspects. These include client understanding, post-trade services, marketing or training events, research, advisory services and other non-manufacturing aspects. Participants are asked to assess candidates based on the competency of their non-manufacturing added value and provide real examples of outstanding cases where leading client services were demonstrated.
- Market share
This is a quantitative metric used to assess the provider’s penetration of the broader private banking market. This metric is based on the penetration of both individual private banks and total private banking structured product volumes in Asia.
