Granted, 2020 has been a dismal year. As we are approaching 2021, we are in the midst of the second peak of a global pandemic, with GDP growth figures 5 to 10 or more percent below where they were a year ago. On top of that, we have just had one of the most fractious US presidential elections and the UK is still bickering with the EU over Brexit.
Not much to be hopeful about, it would seem — and yet, there is a lot to be optimistic about in 2021.
