We stay ahead of the curve by identifying market opportunities and creating relevant products, and we work in close partnership with distributors to understand what works and what does not work for end-investors. 2019 will bring a new market construct and different client needs, where the bank will continue to help clients navigate the challenges and opportunities that the market has to offer.
Central banks’ monetary policies continued to diverge in 2018, with the US leading the curve while other developed nations lagged, thus creating numerous opportunities within the interest rate-linked structured products space.

This year, Societe Generale has worked closely with private banking gatekeepers across the region to ensure it captures these opportunities and delivers new payoff and underlier offerings that resonate with end-clients, whose appetite towards interest rate-linked structured products has been fast-changing.

“The structured rates market moved from reverse convertible note (RCN) on USD constant maturity swap (CMS) 10Y in 2015/2016 to GBP CMS 10Y in 2017 and CMS spread range accruals in 2018,” said Avyakt Agarwal, director cross-asset distribution sales, private banks for global markets at Societe Generale in Singapore.

The French investment bank was at the forefront of each of these popular trades and remains ahead of the curve by identifying new market opportunities and creating relevant products to generate an enhanced return for end-investors.

Further, Societe Generale continues to strengthen its business to fulfil the growing and increasingly sophisticated needs of Asia’s private banking clients.

“2019 will bring a new market construct and different client needs, where Societe Generale will continue to help clients navigate the challenges and opportunities that the market has to offer,” Agarwal said.

“We believe in creating and maintaining long-term relationships with our clients and the end-investors, and are convinced that delivering to our clients’ needs via quality services and products will enable us to continue to deepen and broaden our client base.”

Societe Generale’s constant innovation and consistently high-quality service did not go unnoticed by the region’s private banking industry, which named it this year’s Best Structured Product Provider – Interest Rates.
