Converging forces are driving cloud adoption across APAC. Diverse risk analysis models, broad regulatory requirements and compute-intensive calculations require burst capacity and the ability to quickly run large compute jobs and complex simulations at scale.

With the re-architected SaaS framework of Oneview, we are able to scale horizontally — adapting to respond as needed to on-demand requirements and calculation requests. These enhancements delivered tangible results for our private banking clients in 2021, including improved price discovery, timely best execution, and better service with automation.

Numerix’s success in the Risk Management Solution category of Asian Private Banker’s Technology Awards for the second year in a row was based on the vendor’s abilities to continuously adapt and improve its flagship pricing and risk management software.

During the period under consideration for the awards, Numerix made several key enhancements to the cloudbased Oneview platform. These included improved digitalisation and automation of Request for Quote (RFQ) processes for trading of structured notes and exotics. More specifically, such improvements allow for automated RFQ workflows between sales, derivatives and valuation-adjustment desks, simplifying the roles of the three departments and allowing client RFQs to be completed with greater accuracy and speed.

Other enhancements presented to the APB judges included streamlined trade lifecycle processes for Oneview. As a result, the platform is now able to handle trades throughout the entire lifecycle, including through OTC exercise processes and barrier event processes.

The judging panel for APB’s Technology Awards was impressed by the depth and sophistication of the regional client case studies presented by Numerix. In a deployment at a large Asia-Pacific bank with a wealth management operation, Oneview was able to boost the client’s ability to value and price structured notes for rates, FX- and equity-linked structures, in compliance with new risk-based capital adequacy requirements.

Following its move to Oneview, the bank — whose derivatives trading operation has grown larger and more complex over the years — can now price multi-asset and exotic derivatives more quickly. During the process, Numerix worked closely with the bank to gain the trust of internal stakeholders and assuage concerns over potential data security and privacy issues that arose from the switch to cloud computing.

Data shared with APB during the judging process showed that of Numerix’s business in APAC, a significant share of revenue is derived from wealth management and private banking clients, highlighting the company’s commitment to serving the regional industry.

That is why Numerix is Asian Private Banker’s 2021 winner of the Technology Award for Best Risk Management Solution.
