Carret Private Investments, the Hong Kong-based multi-family office, has appointed a new partner for its asset management arm, Asian Private Banker can reveal.
Samuel Chee, formerly a managing director at BNP Paribas Wealth Management in Hong Kong, is the latest veteran to join Carret Private’s stable, which includes managing partner, Kenny Ho, and former head of North Asia for Coutts, David Lam, who sits as chairman of Carret’s advisory board.
Chee joins as partner for QL Asset Management, an affiliate of Carret Private. Chee has also served as managing director, senior advisor at Julius Baer, and has 20 years’ experience in the industry.
Carret Private merged with QL Asset Management in July last year. The following month, the firm announced that China Minsheng Banking Corporation had taken an undisclosed stake in the business through its wholly-owned subsidiary, CMBC International Holdings.
In a written statement, Ho said: “[Chee] joins at an important time as we continue to grow our multi-family office business, particularly in response to the needs of the Greater China market.”
Carret Private Investments, an affiliate of New York-based Carret Asset Management, was set up by Ho in 2015.
