“We are humbled to be recognised once again as the Best Private Bank in Asia Pacific. This award is a testament to the strength and resilience of our business, the dedication of our talented teams, and the trust that clients have in us.

“Our clients are at the heart of everything we do and the driving force behind our pursuit of excellence. Beyond achieving a strong growth momentum last year, we also made substantial progress in our integration, where Asia Pacific was the first region to complete migrating clients to the UBS platform.

“Tapping our enhanced footprint, scale and expertise, we remain committed to unlocking synergies across the firm to extend our leadership and deliver an unparalleled experience for our clients.”

What was behind the judges’ decision?

  • The bank recorded extremely strong rates of NNA in Asia during the period under consideration for the Awards for Distinction 2024 while successfully converting much of this cash into investment solutions. This demonstrated to the Judging Panel that the bank’s suite of solutions and front office capabilities are equipped with the tools they require to capture wallet share in the region. What is more, the bank achieved this while maintaining one of the most competitive cost-to-income ratios in the regional industry, demonstrating its ability to grow its franchise profitably.
  • With the integration of Credit Suisse into UBS Global Wealth Management’s regional presence, the bank’s geographic reach into Asia’s burgeoning wealth pool is second to none. In addition to its firm foundations in both Hong Kong and Singapore, the bank has a growing and differentiated offering in Australia, as well as long-term potential in onshore China and India.
  • UBS Global Wealth Management has continued to strengthen an already robust one-bank proposition. In addition to already seamless connectivity between private banking, global markets and investment management, the lender has added Unified Global Alternatives (UGA) and Unified Global Banking (UGB) into the mix, helping to bring the best of UBS to wealth clients in two crucial lending offerings.

What we said…

“UBS Global Wealth Management’s victory in eight categories at the Awards for Distinction 2024 is a testament to the Swiss powerhouse’s capabilities across everything from asset gathering and client relationship management across the ultra/high net worth spectrum, to trading and investments, to philanthropy,” said Daniel Shane, editor of Asian Private Banker and head of the Judging Panel for the Awards for Distinction 2024.

“With the integration of Credit Suisse in Asia now largely complete, UBS Global Wealth Management boasts strength and depth across Asia Pacific, from Hong Kong to Singapore, to Australia and Japan. No other private bank in the region can match its geographical reach.

“The bank continues to be a juggernaut when it comes to net new assets (NNA), collecting more than US$7 billion in Asia Pacific in 3Q2024 alone, or 30% of UBS Global Wealth Management’s global total. But more importantly, the bank continues to execute with precision, with most of this multi-billion dollar NNA haul rapidly being deployed into investments. Meanwhile, the bank’s Asia business benefits from one of the most competitive cost-to-income ratios in the regional private banking industry.

“Crucially, the platform that powers UBS Global Wealth Management in Asia is arguably the strongest in the industry. The bank’s DPM proposition exudes sophistication in everything from asset allocation to risk management and digital technology, while UBS Global Wealth Management’s product shelf of alternative investment solutions can go toe-to-toe with any other in Asia. For these reasons, Asian Private Banker is proud to award UBS Global Wealth Management with the accolade of Best Private Bank – Asia Pacific for the second year running.”
