Overview

APB Intensive is a high-powered virtual session, where select fund houses will pitch their latest investment convictions and product solutions to a highly-targeted, controlled, and exclusive audience of private banking gatekeepers and family offices.

Each fund house will only have eight minutes on the virtual stage, and interested fund selectors and investment professionals will then have the opportunity to express their interest to each pitch. Upon completion of the event, APB will facilitate communication between attendees and the presenting fund house for the appropriate follow-up connection.

Adrian Zuercher
Head Global Asset Allocation & Co-Head Global Investment Management APAC, UBS Chief Investment OfficeAdrian Zuercher is head global asset allocation and co-head global investment management APAC at UBS Chief Investment office. In his global asset allocation role, he is responsible for multi-asset portfolio solutions. He co-chairs the tactical investment forum, the global portfolio construction meeting, and is a member of the global investment committee which defines the UBS CIO house-view. In his global IM APAC capacity, he is responsible for investment fund selection, portfolio management, and product development. Adrian oversees regionally discretionary and advisory mandates, investment and alternatives funds, sustainable investing, and the wealth planning offering.

Before joining UBS, Adrian was head of multi-asset emerging market strategy and global asset allocation at Credit Suisse Asset Management in Hong Kong and Zurich. Adrian holds an MSc in finance and economics from the University of Bern and is a CFA charterholder.

Stefan Lecher
Regional Head of Investments & Wealth Solutions (IWS), Asia Pacific, HSBC Global Private Banking and WealthStefan leads the investments and wealth solutions team for HSBC in Asia Pacific to deliver best-in-class wealth products and solutions to clients of wealth and personal banking. Stefan is responsible for the chief investment office, discretionary and advisory mandates, capital markets, funds, alternatives and insurance solutions in Asia-Pacific. He is a key executive committee member in HSBC’s Asian wealth strategy where HSBC is poised to becoming the leading wealth manager in Asia in the next five years with USD 3.5 billion of investment.

Before joining HSBC in October 2021, Stefasn has held a number of key product and investment roles within global wealth management and asset management in UBS for close to 20 years.

Stefan is CFA and holds a master’s degree from the University of Zurich and an MBA form Columbia business school.

Jacqueline Koo
Managing Director, Head of Investment Management & Client Coverage, Hong Kong, Credit SuisseJacqueline Koo is a managing director of Credit Suisse in the wealth management division, based in Hong Kong. As head of investment management and client coverage for Hong Kong, she is responsible for the discretionary portfolio management solutions for clients in Asia and leads the team for balanced and equity solutions. She serves as a voting member of the Credit Suisse APAC Investment Committee and Hong Kong Branch Management Committee. She is also manager in charge/hkma executive officer for the asset management activities of Credit Suisse Hong Kong.

Ms. Koo joined Credit Suisse Hong Kong in June 2017 from ABN AMRO N.V. Hong Kong, where she was regional head of discretionary portfolio management for Asia and the Middle East. Prior to that, she worked at Bank Julius Baer as head of portfolio management for North Asia and LGT Bank where she was head of investment management for Asia Pacific.

Jai Jacob
Managing Director, Portfolio Manager/Analyst, Lazard Asset ManagementJai Jacob is a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager/Analyst, Co-head of the Lazard Dynamic Portfolio Solutions (DPS) platform as the Multi Asset team lead, overseeing more than US$34.2 billion in client assets under management and advisement as of 31 December 2022. Jai is a member of Lazard’s Executive Leadership Team and chairs the Quantitative/Multi-Asset/Alternatives (QMA) Investment Management Group. Prior to managing the Multi-Asset platform and team, Jai worked in Global Risk Management, Fixed Income, Quantitative Technology and Settlements at Lazard. He led the development of Lazard’s proprietary Risk Analysis system and has built quantitative analytical tools for over 40 Lazard investment strategies. He began working in the investment field in 1998 upon joining Lazard. Jai has a BA from Cornell University.

Marcel Fritsch
Senior Portfolio Manager, Bellevue Asset ManagementMarcel Fritsch joined Bellevue Asset Management in 2008 as portfolio manager of the Bellevue Medtech & Services and Bellevue Digital Health Fund. Prior to that, he spent more than three years as a consultant with Deloitte & Touche. Formulating company strategy, evaluating organisational structures and valuing companies prior to corporate transactions were among his duties in this function. Marcel Fritsch holds a degree in business economics from the University of St. Gallen (HSG).

James Cook
Head of Investment Specialists, Federated Hermes LimitedJames joined in November 2011 and is head of investment specialists. Within his role, he oversees the team of investment specialists supporting all equity, fixed income and multi-asset products and is also investment director for emerging markets strategies. He joined from Fidelity Worldwide Investments, where he was product director for emerging markets equities from October 2005 until May 2011. He previously worked at Threadneedle Investments in investment communications. James has a degree in Economics from Royal Holloway, University of London, and holds the Investment Management Certificate.

Carly Lau
Senior Reporter, Asian Private BankerCarly is a senior reporter from Asian Private Banker, she joined the editorial team in April 2020. She focuses on covering investment trends in the private wealth management industry, including talking to CIOs and investment strategies regularly from asset managers and private banks on different asset classes and themes.

Darren Wills
Head of ETFs and Index Investments Product, Asia Pacific, BlackRockDarren Wills is the Head of ETFs and Index Investments Product, Asia Pacific, BlackRock. His team is responsible for supporting client engagement for both institutional and wealth investors by developing thought leadership for index products and driving product innovation. Prior to his current role, Darren was the investment lead for the EMEA iShares and Index portfolio management team within the Global Fixed Income group, where he was responsible for the management and oversight of all fixed income ETF and index investments in Europe. Darren holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Management Sciences from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (U.M.I.S.T).

Steven Cheung
iShares Wealth Distribution, BlackRockSteven Cheung is a member of the Asia ex Japan iShares Wealth Distribution team, focusing on Private Banks. Prior to his current role, Steven also worked with the Client Business Sales and Product Strategy teams at BlackRock. Steven holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver.

Choonshik Yi
Head of Discretionary Portfolio Management, North Asia, Union Bancaire PrivéeChoonshik Yi joined UBP Wealth Management Asia as head of discretionary portfolio management, North Asia in 2022.

Choonshik was previously working in UBP Asset Management Asia, where he was head of Asia equities. Since joining in 2014, he has been managing various funds including UBP’s flagship fund, UBAM Best Selection Asia Equity and other regional mandates. Choonshik has over 20 years’ of experience in the asset management industry.

Before joining UBP, he was a fund manager at Hamon Investment Group, responsible for Asia ex-Japan portfolios and Korea/Taiwan research. Prior to that, he worked with Korea Investment Management running a wide range of products such as Asia ex-Japan, China, Taiwan, ASEAN, Vietnam and Global sector funds. He has a B.Sc. in business administration from Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea. Choonshik brings his strong institutional equity portfolio management capability to the DPM team.

Nathan Lim
Co-Head of Investment Management Services, Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management AsiaNathan Lim is the co-head of investment management services for Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management Asia. He was previously the Head of Wealth Management Research for Morgan Stanley Australia from 2016 to 2022.

Since arriving at Morgan Stanley, he has developed Wealth Management’s multi-asset investment approach which was recognized by the Institute of Managed Account Professionals as the winner in the 2021 Multi-Asset and Licensee Managed Account categories.

Nathan joined Morgan Stanley from Australian Ethical Investment where he managed the Australian Ethical International Shares Fund. He started his career in 1995 and has extensive experience in asset management, research and stockbroking that has taken him across Asia, North America, the Middle East and Australia. Nathan is a frequent speaker and writer on the intersection between finance and the environment, has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia, is an Honorary Adjunct Professor with the University of Technology Sydney Business School and is a CFA charterholder.

Gabriel Chan
Head of Investment Services, Hong Kong, BNP Paribas Wealth ManagementGabriel is managing director and head of investment services for Hong Kong. He leads the Hong Kong-based investment services teams to deliver an efficient and reputable advisory and dealing platform to recommend, distribute and execute investment products such as equity, bonds, forex, mutual funds, structured products and more.

Gabriel has over 18 years of experience in equity research. Previously, he was the head of equity research for APAC at BNP Paribas Securities Asia. He worked in a number of global financial institutions, including Credit Suisse, CLSA and Standard & Poor’s.

Gabriel holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts degree in economics from the Queen’s University, Canada, and he is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Mischa Bitton
Head, Alternative Investments, Wealth Management, Standard Chartered BankMischa joined Standard Chartered Bank in June 2019. Based in Singapore, he is leading the alternative investments team overseeing hedge funds and private markets products. Prior to that, Mischa worked for DBS Bank and Societe Generale Private Banking where he held various positions in Asia and in Europe as product manager in the fund team, covering both traditional and non-traditional investments. He has more than 10 years of experience in the fund management industry. Mischa holds an MSc in finance and banking from the University Paris II Assas and is CAIA Charterholder.

Hui Yang Goh
Head of Alternative Investments Asia, Pictet Wealth ManagementHui Yang Goh was appointed head of alternative investments for Asia effective January 1, 2023. She first joined Pictet in 2020 as a senior alternative investments specialist, and brings about 20 years of experience in managing US and Asia funds and co-investment portfolios.

Before Pictet, Hui Yang worked for Temasek International Pte Ltd Singapore, where she was director – private equity fund investments. She led private equity projects involving cross-functional teams of key internal stakeholder and external parties.

In an earlier role at Temasek, Hui Yang was working in the US for close to four years, responsible for executing the US fund investment strategy which consisted of a portfolio of more than 30 funds and co-investments.

Hui Yang graduated from Nanyang Technological University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Accountancy.

Marc Lansonneur
Managing Director, Head of Managed Solutions, DBS BankWhen he’s not seeking out investment opportunities for clients, Marc coaches rugby for underprivileged kids. At the heart of it is his belief in creating a positive change to people and to society. He brings this philosophy to work, where he sees ESG as a way to both help clients do well, and do good at the same time.

Joining DBS from Société Générale in October 2014, Marc leads the wealth managed solutions and balance sheet products. His team of specialists cover managed products such as funds (unit trusts, hedge funds), funds selection and private investments. It should come as no surprise that Marc is a member of DBS Group Sustainability Council.

At Société Générale, he held various positions in private banking, corporate and investment banking in Asia, Europe and America. He has more than 20 years of experience in the financial industry.

A French national, Marc holds a Master in Business Administration from ESSEC in Paris, France.

Royston Low
Managing Director & Regional Head, Private Investments, BNP Paribas Wealth ManagementRoyston is the regional head for private investments at BNP Paribas Wealth Management, which encompasses private equity and private real estate funds. Based out of Singapore, he has held this role since 2010.

Prior to this, he spent seven years of his career with TIFF Ventures PTE Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Singapore Economic Development Board. TIFF Ventures managed the US$1.3 Billion Technopreneurship Investment Fund, a “fund of funds” established to promote venture capital and private equity investments in Singapore. In this capacity, he was responsible for origination and due diligence, which resulted in numerous investments in private equity funds globally.

Royston started his career with the National Science and Technology Board of Singapore (now agency for Science, Technology and Research, *ASTAR). He graduated with a Master of Science degree from the National University of Singapore.

Robert Reid
Global Head of Alternative Investments and Managed Solutions, Bank of SingaporePrior to joining Bank of Singapore, Robert was a managing director at BlackRock, most recently serving the firm and its clients as country head for both Hong Kong and Taiwan, having joined the firm more than eight years before as the head of strategy and chief operating officer for BlackRock’s iShares/ETF business in Asia.Robert has more than 30 years of experience in professional and financial services in Asia, having served in senior leadership roles with P&L responsibility for global asset management and sell-side firms.Robert originally qualified as a corporate finance solicitor at Linklaters, specialising in public and private M&A transactions for nearly 10 years, before moving to McKinsey & Company and then CLSA, serving the firm in multiple leadership positions.

Philippe Spielhofer
Co-Head Advisory & Sales and Client Services APAC Managing Director, UBS Global Wealth ManagementPhilippe is responsible for sales management, product specialists for investment solutions, active advisory, wealth planning, family advisory and marketing. He also oversees investment management, investment office and lending and banking products for the Hong Kong location.Philippe joined UBS in 2011 to support the creation of an integrated client coverage across business divisions in APAC for the top accounts at group-level. In 2015, he was appointed operating head for investment products & solutions for Asia pacific in wealth management, and from 2016 to 2017 he also assumed the additional role of local product head for WM China domestic. In January 2020, Philippe took up the role of head investment specialists Greater China, in WM advisory & sales, and was appointed to the current roles in January 2021.Prior to UBS, Philippe held various positions at Credit Suisse in Zurich, Hong Kong and Seoul. He holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Durham, United Kingdom.

Marco Yau
Portfolio Manager, Research Analyst, Allianz Global InvestorsMarco is a Hong Kong-based research analyst with Allianz Global Investors, specialising in the China financials and software sectors. He joined the firm in October 2018 and became co-lead portfolio manager of the AllianzGI China Future Technologies strategy in July 2022. Marco has 12 years of industry experience. Before joining Allianz Global Investors, he worked at CEB International Capital and CLSA Ltd, specialising in China financials. Marco holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of Hong Kong, as well as an LLB degree from Manchester Metropolitan University.
Jason Hsu
Portfolio Manager, Research Analyst, Allianz Global InvestorsJason joined Allianz Global Investors in April 2018 as a research analyst specialising in technology companies across Asia ex-Japan. He became co-lead portfolio manager of the AllianzGI China Future Technologies strategy in July 2022. Before joining, Jason worked at Bric Neutron Asset Management as co-manager of a global TMT portfolio. With 14 years of industry experience, he also previously worked at Allard Partner Limited as a Greater China TMT research analyst. Jason holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from National Taiwan University.
Günter Tschiderer
Head of Intermediary Sales, Hong Kong & South East Asia, BNP Paribas Asset ManagementGünter Tschiderer leads business development with intermediaries (private banks, retail banks and insurers) in Hong Kong and South East Asia for BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM).Prior to this assignment, he successfully developed fund distribution with private banks in Asia Pacific out of Hong Kong. His previous roles included heading the wholesale distribution teams in North and South East Asia out of Hong Kong and Singapore. Upon arrival in Asia, Günter marketed smart beta and liquid alternative investment solutions as a sales specialist for THEAM (BNP Paribas) across the Asia Pacific region.Günter is a CFA charter holder and holds a master’s degree in international economics from the University of Innsbruck, Austria and a diploma in management from the Grenoble School of Management, France. In addition to German, his native language, he is fluent in English, French and Spanish.

Mathieu Forcioli
Global Head and Asia-Pacific Head of Alternatives, HSBC Wealth and Personal BankingMathieu is currently global head and Asia Pacific head of alternatives, in HSBC’s global private banking and wealth division, based in Hong Kong. In this capacity, he oversees the offering of hedge funds, private equity funds, real estate funds and other private investment opportunities to HSBC’s private banking and wealth customers.Prior to joining HSBC, Mathieu set up the private markets offering of Antarctica Asset Management, a global platform allowing wealth managers to offer their clients access to a curated offering of hedge funds and private market funds.Before that, Mathieu set up and grew the Asia operations of Moonfare, an online platform allowing private individuals to invest in private equity funds. In the earlier part of his career, Mathieu held various leadership roles at UBS, including leadership of the wealth management private markets distribution team and the institutional investments group for APAC.

Ancus Mak
Head Mandate Consulting, Hong Kong, Bank Julius BaerAncus Mak is responsible for overseeing the discretionary mandate consulting activities of Bank Julius Baer’s Investment Management (IM) in North Asia. In this role, he has established IM’s Hong Kong franchise via strategic proposition and product development since he joined BJB in 2017.

He is also actively involved in structuring appropriate discretionary investment solutions for HNW, UHNW and Institutional clients.

Ancus has more than 15 years of experience in investment management. Before joining BJB, he was a discretionary portfolio management specialist at Deutsche Bank Wealth Management in the APAC region. Prior to that, Ancus worked as a portfolio solutions specialist at Credit Suisse Private Bank, where he was responsible for managing multi-asset advisory portfolios.

Ancus also spent five years with JPMorgan Asset Management as vice president of intermediary distribution. Ancus started his career as a finance journalist who covered the Hong Kong and China capital markets.

Ancus holds a MSc in investment management from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Daniel Chan
Head of Investment Management Asia, Citi Global WealthDaniel Chan is responsible for overseeing all of Citi investment management activities in the Asia Pacific region. He is a member of the CIM Global Leadership Team and the chairman of the Asia Investment Forum.Daniel is a seasoned investment professional with over 28 years of public and private equity investment experience. Prior to joining Citigroup, he was a founding member of The Dellacorte Group, a private equity firm focusing on middle market buyout transactions. He co-led the investment team in deal sourcing and financial due diligence.Before joining Dellacorte, Daniel was a senior portfolio manager at Wilmington Trust, responsible for managing discretionary investment portfolios for institutional and private investor aggregating.Daniel received a joint MBA degree from the NYU Stern School of Business, London School of Economics and HEC School of Management, Paris. He also received a BS in finance and management from NYU Stern and is a holder of the chartered financial analyst designation.

Daniel Shane
Editor, Asian Private BankerDaniel Shane is Editor of Asian Private Banker and is responsible for spearheading the publication’s editorial, awards and data products. Daniel was previously Asia Companies & Markets News Editor at the Financial Times in Hong Kong where he managed corporate and financial coverage in both online and print, as well as moderating events for the FT in the region. Earlier in his career Daniel was a reporter for CNN and Barron’s in Asia. He graduated with a degree in Anthropology from the UK’s University of Sussex.

Twinkle Zhou
Senior Reporter, Asian Private BankerTwinkle Zhou is a senior reporter of Asian Private Banker. Twinkle was previously a reporter at AsianInvestor where she covered institutional asset management, with a focus on Greater China. She was also with Acuris, SCMP and Hong Kong Economic Times in earlier years, covering ECM, conglomerates and TMT.
Jacky Tang
Head of Portfolio Management Group Asia, Head of Portfolio Advisory Group Asia, Head of Investment Strategy Group Asia, Goldman Sachs Private Wealth ManagementJacky is head of the portfolio management group, head of the portfolio advisory group, and head of the investment strategy group for Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management in Asia Pacific. He is responsible for centralised discretionary portfolio management for ultra high net worth and institutional clients across Asia Pacific. Jacky is also responsible for advising clients on strategic asset allocation and tactical investment strategies. He joined Goldman Sachs as an executive director in 2012 and was named managing director in 2019.Jacky has served as an adjunct professor for the City University of Hong Kong’s department of economics and finance and has led a number of workshops in behavioural finance, sustainable finance, financial markets, asset allocation and portfolio management.Jacky earned a PhD in economics from the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and a master’s degree from the University of Cambridge.

Clark Cahill
Senior Content Manager, Asian Private BankerClark is responsible for content development and production for Asian Private Banker’s events and conferences. Prior to this, he helmed content production roles for events and conferences at the South China Morning Post and InfoPro Digital. Early in his career, he spent time in Beijing, working as an editor at China Daily and as a news anchor with China Xinhua News Network Corporation (CNC), a TV news network run by Xinhua News Agency that targets overseas audiences.Clark graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and mass communication from the University of Iowa (USA).
Nan Liu
Product Specialist, Allianz Global InvestorsNan Liu is a Hong Kong-based product specialist with Allianz Global Investors. She joined the firm in January 2022 and specialises in China equity strategies. Nan previously worked as a product specialist at Invesco, focused on China and Asian equity strategies. Prior to this, she was part of the research team at Deutsche Bank and also a deputy economist at the Economist Intelligence Unit, responsible for research and economic forecasting of China’s national and regional economy.Nan holds a Master in Economics from London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor of Economics and Finance from the University of Hong Kong.
