Commercial Director & Head of Sales

Asian Private Banker, one of Asia’s fastest growing, most ambitious, and market-moving financial publications, is seeking an intelligent, experienced and hungry commercial director to continue its aggressive sales and product development across multiple revenue lines. Key Responsibilities

    We are seeking a Commercial Director and Head of Sales to:

  • Plan, manage and execute the sales strategy for all Asian Private Banker products and services which include:
    • Events – continue to grow 10+ well-established conferences (mainly in Hong Kong and Singapore), and develop smart, profitable and sustainable new events
    • Subscriptions – guide and assist in selling our well-established corporate subscription program
    • Data & Research – plan and execute a sales strategy for our expanding data and research department with premium annuity subscriptions as the core offering
    • Digital Advertising & Content – drive innovation and profit from our digital products to ensure we continue to outperform competitors
  • Lead, manage and mentor the sales team (5 direct reports) to support them in achieving sales targets
  • Consult and help drive product innovation for existing and new products
  • Participate in senior management discussion, particularly budget planning, review and management
  • Strengthen the sale processes and collaterals for all products and services

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 10-15 years of sales experience
  • 5 years of proven P&L responsibility and accountability
  • Self-motivated and resourceful
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent English essential, proficient in Mandarin is a bonus
  • Very strong organisational and time management skills
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively as needed
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, high-pressure environment
  • High-level attention to detail

The role will be based in Hong Kong with regular travel to Singapore and travel to Europe as needs arise.

Salary will be commensurate with experience with significant performance incentives.
