Blackstone

Winners Rationale

“Ed Huang’s leadership of Blackstone Private Wealth – Asia Pacific stands out this year for its clarity of vision, disciplined execution, and meaningful impact on distribution across the region. He has driven substantial growth, marked by strong inflows into key strategies and a significant expansion of Blackstone’s regional footprint,” said Audrey Rar, editor of Asian Private Banker.

“Huang also led the launch of several private market funds in Asia, expanding access to investment opportunities for clients across the region. Under his direction, the APAC private wealth platform has deepened its presence across both established and emerging markets, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Australia, Shanghai, South Korea, Taiwan, India, and Thailand. Headcount has grown, distributor relationships have expanded, and new private market funds have been successfully introduced, collectively strengthening Blackstone’s reach and relevance among wealth intermediaries.

“What sets Huang apart is his dedication to advancing private markets education in Asia. By introducing Blackstone University locally and collaborating with top industry bodies, he helped launch the region’s first accredited alternatives programs, partnering with the Private Wealth Management Association (PWMA) in Hong Kong and the Wealth Management Institute (WMI) in Singapore.

“These initiatives have already equipped hundreds of wealth professionals with the knowledge needed to engage clients confidently in private markets. Taken together, Huang’s strategic expansion, distributor engagement, and investment in industry capability-building have elevated the private wealth ecosystem across Asia Pacific. For these reasons, he is a deserving recipient of Distribution Partner of the Year.”
