After the US Department of Commerce in 2022 implemented controls on the export to China of advanced computing and semiconductor products, CSOP launched the CSOP Hang Seng Tech Index ETF to assuage investor concern about the investment restriction.
CSOP is a leader in ETF issuance: in the past three years, five out of the 10 most actively traded ETFs/ ETPs in Hong Kong were managed by CSOP. And in 2021, CSOP won three out of the four HKEX ETF Awards issued by the Hong Kong exchange.
The CSOP Hang Seng TECH Index ETF received record inflow in 2022, its AUM increased to HK$ 15 Billion as of September 2022. It consists of 30 largest Chinese technology companies listed in Hong Kong.
Starting in 2022, ETFs have been included in the Stock Connect scheme between HKEX and the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE), thereby bringing Hong Kong Listed ETFs to mainland China, the world’s second-largest financial market.
With a staff over 110, CSOP is the only mainland Chinese company established in Hong Kong and Singapore capable of running a business covering all aspects — research, investment, marketing, risk management, operation and trading.
