In terms of geography, the fund(s) can cover global emerging markets, a selection of emerging market countries, or a single emerging market country but it cannot exclusively cover the following equity markets (for which there are stand-alone categories):

Relevant technological themes include but are not limited to the internet, software, digitalisation, ecommerce, artificial intelligence, robotics, digital currencies, and/or semiconductors. The fund(s) submitted for consideration must be active and long-only, can use any investment style (e.g. growth, value, blend, small cap, large cap, all cap), and must invest predominantly in equities issued by companies within the technology sector. The fund(s) submitted for consideration can cover any market. The submitted fund(s) cannot exclusively focus on the ESG/Sustainable theme, for which there is a separate category.

Award Summary

This award category is applicable to any fund house that manages at least one actively managed equity strategy employing quantitative investment processes. The submitted fund(s) should demonstrate expertise in using data-driven models, algorithms, and quantitative techniques to construct and manage portfolios aimed at delivering consistent, risk-adjusted returns. The fund(s) submitted for consideration can cover any market(s) and investment style.

Bond Categories

Global Bond – Short Term

Award Summary

This award category is applicable to any fund house that manages at least one actively managed global bond strategy that primarily invests in fixed income securities with a maturity of up to five years. The fund(s) submitted for consideration must be actively managed and use a broad global bond index as a benchmark, but can use any income strategy and invest across both hard and local currency instruments. However, the fund cannot exclusively cover the High Yield market (for which there is a stand-alone category).

Global Bond – Intermediate to Long Term

Award Summary

This award category is applicable to any fund house that manages at least one actively managed global bond strategy that primarily invests in fixed income securities with a maturity of more than five years. The fund(s) submitted for consideration must be actively managed and use a broad global bond index as a benchmark, but can use any income strategy and invest across both hard and local currency instruments. However, the fund cannot exclusively cover the High Yield market (for which there is a stand-alone category).

The submitted fund should have a fixed term and a defined maturity date, with capital typically committed for the duration of the fund’s life. Redemptions are generally not available before maturity, in contrast to open-ended or semi-liquid structures. The fund(s) submitted for consideration can cover any market(s) and investment style.

Private Markets – Secondaries New

Award Summary

This award category is applicable to any fund house that manages at least one actively managed private markets secondaries fund, which buys pre-existing stakes in private market investments, such as but not limited to private equity, private credit and real estate, rather than investing directly in new projects or companies or originating new debt. The fund(s) submitted for consideration can cover any market(s) and investment style.

Infrastructure

Award Summary

This award category is applicable to any fund house that manages at least one actively managed infrastructure strategy. The fund(s) submitted for consideration can cover any market and can invest across the spectrum of infrastructure-linked securities (i.e. public equities, private equities, REITs, direct investments).

This award category is applicable to any fund house that manages at least one actively managed hedge fund or fund-of-hedge funds strategy. Award Summary

This award category is applicable to any fund house that can demonstrate to be a strong leader both in (a) the provision of ESG strategies for the private banking and wealth management industry in the Asia Pacific region for the year under consideration, and (b) in its efforts in promoting, implementing, and embedding ESG within the company culture. To be eligible, a firm does not need to offer a full spectrum of ESG strategies across all asset classes but must demonstrate best-in-class qualities across those relevant asset classes, together with evidence of how it is embracing the principles of ESG throughout its organisational culture.
