At HSBC Global Private Banking, the commitment we make to clients is central to what we do. We constantly seek to listen and understand their needs to provide them with the best possible level of service.

In 2022, we launched the Client Insights Program with the aim of developing actionable initiatives that will enhance our clients experience, underpinned by data points and what clients are telling us. Likewise, our digital strategy considers clients’ holistic end-to-end journey and blends innovative digital capabilities with our bankers’ expertise to suit the clients’ evolving financial needs.

The improvements in our client satisfaction and our business growth are testament to our client-centric approach, and we will continue to listen to the voice of clients and put their evolving needs at the centre of our ongoing transformation strategy.

What was behind the judges’ decision?

  • During the period under consideration, HSBC Global Private Banking substantially enhanced its client proposition with the launch of its Prism advisory services, backed by BlackRock’s Aladdin Wealth technology. The system empowers RMs to provide higher quality, more timely investment advice to clients by monitoring more than 3,000 risk factors daily
  • Through its UHNW Masterclass series of virtual events in 2022, HSBC Global Private Banking RMs have been upskilled and better equipped to facilitate strategic conversations with this client segment — whether on private credit, family offices, or prime lending services
  • HSBC Global Private Banking has taken considerable steps to ease the journey for clients from mass affluent to fully fledged private banking services. For example, the bank has drastically cut the time to upgrade clients from its Jade service to Global Private Banking by enabling e-signature and paper-free onboarding, as well as extending more products across the wealth continuum. This has directly resulted in a major increase in clients upgrading from mass affluent to Global Private Banking accounts
  • During 2022, HSBC GPB’s digital capabilities were given a significant facelift. Among the additions to the digital offering during the period under consideration for the Awards for Distinction were online trading in funds and structured products, as well as sustainable investment contribution metrics
