The success in presenting such digital endeavours to its private clients in the region is in no small part down to Laurent Rosfelder, operating head for wealth management, North Asia, at UBS. The executive has pioneered the Swiss universal bank’s so-called ‘high-tech, high-touch’ service in the region that nimbly walks the line between offering the latest technological tools for its sophisticated client base and ensuring the human advisor remains at the heart of the bank’s service offering.

Rosfelder shows few signs of stopping there, however. In 2022 alone, UBS launched WE.UBS, a digital wealth management platform targeting emerging HNWIs in China’s Greater Bay Area, as well as UBS Circle One, an Asia-developed app that aims to better connect clients with experts within the bank.

With the bank’s impending move in North Asia to new, purpose-built premises in Hong Kong’s Kowloon district, Rosfelder is sure to be keeping busy in the coming months and years, and we are delighted to recognise him as Asian Private Banker’s COO of the Year for 2022.
