Last year, we were Asian Private Banker’s Most Promising Fintech Startup. This year, we’ve been awarded the prestigious title of Best Growth Strategy by APB’s Technology Awards 2018. Bondlinc has indeed grown and expanded into Hong Kong, where there is a growing demand for technology to meet the banks’ regulatory requirements. We are truly thankful for the recognition of our hard work and vision to standardise and automate bond trading processes. This is another milestone for us as we strive to spread our solutions throughout the private banking industry.
In early 2017, Bondlinc went live with its mission to streamline fixed income trading via an automated solution that simplifies the historically lengthy and cumbersome bond-trading process. Asian Private Banker’s choice for Most Promising Fintech Startup in 2017, Bondlinc has gone from strength to strength, notching up a number of major achievements in 2018 including opening a new branch, making key hires, signing up notable clients, and securing a significant number of trials with financial institutions in the region.

Bondlinc’s platform facilitates bond trading-related communications between clients, relationship managers, and execution traders and its pricing engine ensures that accurate and real-time prices are captured, highlighting the best spreads. The product also includes a mobile application, trade order management and hybrid sales platforms, a product catalogue system, as well as a chatbot. To boot, Bondlinc provides a regtech solution for automatic pre-trade safeguards and checks.

In 2018, Bondlinc expanded beyond its Singapore home turf, opening a Hong Kong office in the third quarter. It further bolstered its senior leadership, headed by co-founder Daniel Yu, by bringing in fixed income veteran Dr Edward Chan as executive chairman in October and Andy Wong as head of business Asia, hitting the ground running in the city by securing trials with eight Hong Kong-based financial institutions.

Bondlinc has also added to its inaugural partnership with Phillip Securities, going live with Maybank Kim Eng in the first half of 2018 and signing up CGS-CIMB Securities to deploy its solution throughout the region. Furthermore, BNP Paribas Wealth Management has teamed up with Bondlinc to fulfil its bond-trading and signed on for its regtech and compliance solution.

True to form, Bondlinc’s growth ambitions have only grown on the back of this early success. It is currently looking to develop its machine learning and natural language processing capabilities for its regtech solution and aims to reach a wider client base through a standalone fixed income portal. And in a bid to develop an even more comprehensive solution suite, Bondlinc has said it is open to collaborations with data vendors, robo-advisory providers, and transaction venues.

Bondlinc is the winner of Asian Private Banker’s Best Growth Strategy award for 2018.
