Breakout Sessions Workshop 1: Unlocking private markets: Building portfolios with strategies seeking stable income and capital preservation

Join us for a deep dive into the growing opportunities within private markets, where direct lending, alternative credit, triple net lease real estate, and digital infrastructure are redefining portfolio construction. As public companies in developed markets remain private for longer, private market investments have surged, becoming an essential asset class for investors seeking stable income and capital preservation. Discover how integrating private markets into client portfolios can enhance risk-adjusted returns through differentiated strategies designed to provide compelling income streams and capital preservation.

Speaker:

Cai Foong Blue Owl
Workshop 2: Private credit – A global evergreen strategy in direct lending and asset-backed finance

Private credit presents a compelling alternative to traditional financial instruments, particularly in direct lending and asset-backed finance. In today’s volatile market, private credit offers risk-adjusted returns due to its flexibility and lower correlation with traditional asset classes. Jason Phillips from KKR’s Asia Credit team will delve into how private credit can function as a strategic asset class. He will explore the growth in direct lending, address the potential benefits of asset-backed finance as a safeguard against market volatility, and discuss strategies for mitigating risks while pursuing returns. This session will provide a comprehensive overview of private credit, with a special focus on why a global evergreen strategy would be an ideal option for private wealth investors to consider. Discover how these insights can enhance your investment strategy and navigate the complexities of the current financial landscape.

Jason Phillips KKR
Workshop 3: The best of both worlds: Unlocking portfolio resilience with Convertible Arbitrage In an era of heightened market volatility, traditional asset classes may fall short on diversification. Convertible Arbitrage offers a resilient strategy that capitalizes on pricing inefficiencies in convertible bonds — blending equity upside with fixed-income defensiveness to enhance returns while mitigating risk. In this workshop, you will learn about:
  • How Convertible Arbitrage works and its role in portfolio construction
  • How Convertible Arbitrage may potentially generate returns in volatile markets with relatively less interest rate sensitivity
  • Lazard’s Rathmore Alternative strategy — a proven investment approach that may provide equity-like returns with bond-like volatility

Speaker:

Antony Creighton Lazard Asset Management
Workshop 4: Powering the future

The race to achieve Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050 is accelerating what many believe to be the largest infrastructure opportunity of our lifetime. Since 2005, Macquarie Asset Management (MAM) has been at the forefront of renewable energy investments, leveraging a global presence and local approach. With infrastructure deeply embedded in MAM’s DNA, this workshop will showcase MAM’s strategic investments, innovative technologies, and opportunities in the energy transition space. Attendees will gain insights through real asset examples, exploring how MAM, the world’s largest infrastructure manager, is capitalising on growing demand for scalable renewable energy infrastructure amidst increasing global energy needs.
