Breakout Sessions
Workshop 1: An educational and interactive journey into systematic investing
This aims to be an educational and interactive session which goes under the hood of a leading systematic manager. Within a closed-door setting, Portfolio Manager Steven Wong will present a live demo of Acadian’s stock selection forecasts. Through this transparent demonstration, he will illustrate how fundamentals drive decision-making. Established in 1986, Acadian is widely recognized as a pioneer in the field of systematic investing. Acadian has been at the forefront of systematic research, signal development, and portfolio construction for almost 40 years. As of June 30, 2025, Acadian manages $151bn of assets for investors globally, across equity, credit, and alternative strategies. Speaker: Steven Wong, Ph. D.

Workshop 2: Harnessing the power of unconstrained fixed income investing
Join us as we explore Allspring’s differentiated approach to flexible fixed income investing and why it delivers more. More opportunistic. More diversified. More consistent. This unique approach to global fixed income investing has not only delivered superior risk-adjusted returns but done so consistently over different types of market environments and cycles. We will also show why it is the ideal time to revisit flexible fixed income strategies. Recent market volatility has exposed the risks of certain types of approaches that were not evident just a few years ago.
![]() We will also discuss the hidden risks emanating from the unusual and extreme asset concentration in this segment of the fixed income market. Speaker: Noah Wise, CFA

Workshop 3: Building better fixed income portfolios with preferred securities
![]() Preferred securities, with their attractive yields and unique characteristics, offer a compelling complement to high-yield bonds and traditional fixed income portfolios. Supported by strong fundamentals, the preferreds market is underpinned by resilient sectors — banks, insurers, and utilities — that continue to demonstrate solid capital positions and stable cash flows. In today’s environment, preferreds stand out as a strategic option for yield-focused investors. Speaker: Brian Cordes

Workshop 4: Asymmetries and inefficiencies in today’s fixed income markets
![]() In a world of slowing growth, tight credit spreads, and rising refinancing risks, investors must rethink fixed income portfolio construction. Join us to explore how the Thornburg Strategic Income Fund — a high-conviction, actively managed, multi-sector credit strategy — combines selective credit exposure, flexible duration, and downside risk awareness to enhance income with less volatility. This session will address timely questions: Where is the duration “sweet spot” in a shifting macro environment? Where does credit still offer value? What risk-adjusted compensation does multi-sector fixed income offer relative to cash? Speaker: Christian Hoffmann
