Growth amid policy stimulus

The rebound in China’s stock markets in 2024 helped drive up the revenues of brokerage firms’ wealth management businesses. A majority of firms reported growth in fees and commissions in their annual reports in 2024. Meanwhile, the September rally in the A share market induced by China’s aggressive stimulus spurred a rush for account openings, with several firms bringing in more than one million new clients in 2024.
