The China Global Wealth Summit is a new international conference that will focus on how the wealth management industry in Greater China is adapting to serve the offshore investment and non-financial needs of global Chinese clients. The conference will bring together global and China-based private banks and wealth institutions with their (U)HNW clients. It will feature high-level Keynote Speeches, on-stage interviews and panel discussions that showcase the growth of the offshore Chinese client base, and the investment and non-financial solutions that wealth managers and advisors can bring to the demands of their clients.

A new chapter of Shenzhen-Hong Kong financial integration – Cross-border connectivity and coordinated progress
Shenzhen and Hong Kong have achieved phased results in the interconnection and interoperability in the financial field. Mechanisms such as the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect and the Cross-boundary Wealth Management Connect have laid a solid foundation for the integrated development of the financial sectors in both regions. Shenzhen has been actively taking actions and collaborating with the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, focusing on the crucial aspect of rule alignment to steadily promote the in-depth integration and high-quality development of the cross-border financial markets in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. At this summit, Zhaochao Wang, Deputy Director-General, Office of the Financial Affairs Committee of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, will comprehensively and in-depth analyze the current development status of the innovative development of private banking and wealth management finance industries in Shenzhen, introduce in detail the innovative models of financial coordination between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, and deeply explore the high-quality development path for jointly building an international financial hub in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Hong Kong’s asset and wealth management market grew by 30% in 2024 and is now worth over US$4 trillion. It also plays host to a record 2,700 single family offices, more than half of which manage assets worth over US$50 million. Against this backdrop, Hong Kong’s Undersecretary for Financial Services and the Treasury will spell out the tangible benefits to investors of a financial centre which – like no other – pools networks of wealthy individuals, investment expertise and tax advisory specialists.

Mr Joseph H. L. Chan, JP
Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, The Government of Hong Kong SAR Mr Chan was appointed the Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury on 16 August 2017. Mr Chan has many years of senior executive experience in the banking industry. He was a Managing Director in the Global Markets Division of Credit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank, and was a Managing Director in Financial Markets of Standard Chartered Bank. Prior to joining the Government, Mr Chan held multiple roles in a number of public and professional bodies, including Vice President of the Hong Kong Society of Financial Analysts, Director of Hong Kong Securities & Investment Institute, Advisor of the Chinese Gold & Silver Exchange Society, as well as a General Committee member of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. Mr Chan was also a member of the Central & Western District Council. Mr Chan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics (Hon) and Psychology from the University of Michigan, USA. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.

He served as the elected Chairman of Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) and was appointed by the HKSAR government to the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) advisory committee from 2007 to 2009 and to the Financial Services Development Council (FSDC) from 2013 to 2019. Senior Investment Manager, Multi Asset, Pictet Asset Management Lorraine Kuo joined Pictet Asset Management in May 2024 as Senior Investment Manager in the Multi Asset team in Hong Kong. As fund manager, she works closely with the investment team in Hong Kong to manage Pictet AM’s Multi Asset funds including a Luxembourg-domiciled high-conviction theme-based Multi Asset strategy, and a Hong Kong-domiciled global Multi Asset income strategy. Lorraine brings over 20 years of experience in the investment industry. She joins Pictet from Cypress Capital Hong Kong where she was Head of Private Equity, overseeing the management of its Asia-focused private equity portfolios. Prior to that, she worked at Invesco Hong Kong for over 10 years, her last role as Senior Fund Manager, Equity Investment where she co-managed mutual funds with specialty knowledge in Greater China markets and global technology. Before that, she worked in equity research at global financial institutions in Hong Kong and Taiwan, including Deutsche Bank and Manulife Asset Management, covering sectors spanning technology, consumer, chemical and industrials in Asia. Lorraine graduated from Columbia University with a Master of International Affairs focusing on International Finance and Business and received a Bachelor Degree in Economics from National Taiwan University.

Managing Director, Chief Offshore China and Overseas Strategist, China International Capital Corporation Having joined China International Capital Corporation (CICC) in August 2011, Kevin LIU is now a Managing Director at China International Capital Corporation. As the Chief Offshore China and Overseas Strategist, his main responsibility is to provide investors with portfolio and cross-asset, market, and sector allocation recommendations. He is a highly experienced specialist in top-down and comparative economic cycles in both China and global markets, particularly for the offshore Chinese market, as well as global fund flows. Thomas Zhu
Head of Digital Assets and Head of Family Office Business, China Asset Management (Hong Kong) Mr. Thomas Zhu is the Head of Digital Assets and Head of Family Office Business at China Asset Management (Hong Kong), overseeing crypto ETFs, fund tokenization, stablecoin treasury management, and central bank digital currency sandboxes. In 2025, he led the launch of Asia’s first approved compliant retail tokenized money market fund and in 2024, he led the issuance of Asia’s first and largest Bitcoin and Ethereum spot ETFs. Mr. Zhu is currently serving as a member of Entrepreneurship Committee Advisory Group and vetting judge for Incubation Fund at Cyberport. In 2023, he established the Asia RWA Work Group to promote the tokenization of real world assets. Previously, he was an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs, completing 100+ IPOs and financing deals across New York, Boston, and Hong Kong. He is pursuing a Doctorate in FinTech at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and co-authored the first Chinese-language book on RWA tokenization, published by China’s Ministry of Finance publishing house.

Mr. Zhaochao Wang

Prior to this role, he worked at the Shenzhen Municipal Finance Bureau, where he gained extensive experience in financial management, with a deep understanding of fiscal management in areas such as education, science and technology, culture, and the accounting profession management. Since joining the Office of the Financial Affairs Committee of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, he has quickly familiarized himself with the development and regulation of the financial industry, taking the lead in strengthening talent development in the financial sector. Mr. Wang holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree and a Bachelor of Economics degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, as well as a Master of Economics degree from the Party School of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee.

Isabella Wong
