Singapore signs up for new FATCA agreement with US

As the regulatory march towards the abolition of banking secrecy continues, Singapore doubles its efforts to combat tax crimes. Singapore has agreed to sign an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with the US to help financial institutions’ comply with the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) – a move that is expected to ease the burden of compliance for the region’s private banks….
