Adrian Teo

Bank of Singapore

Adrian Teo

Managing Director, Market Head, Philippines, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand and IndoChina, Bank of Singapore

From being an active voice on LinkedIn to serving part-time as an adjunct lecturer at Nanyang Technological University Singapore, Adrian Teo embodies many roles that made him a Singapore Powerlist banker.

As the current market group head for APAC covering Southeast Asia, Teo’s journey at Bank of Singapore began over six years ago when he joined as market head for ASEAN, playing a pivotal role in expanding the bank’s presence and franchise across the region.

Teo shared that his current role represents one of the most significant milestones in his career, granting him a more extensive influence over the bank’s business. As the bank is still relatively young, he brings a “builder mindset” to his work and is inspired by the opportunity to grow alongside the firm.

“I am driven to grow the businesses and people I work with. Our legacy in the corporate world is defined by the impact we have on the business and the lives of the people we work with. This excites me the most every day,” he said.

A private banking native, Teo honed his skills through roles at leading international private banks, including UBS, Credit Suisse, and J.P. Morgan, covering markets such as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Indochina.

Passing on his wealth of knowledge to the next generation also keeps Teo motivated. Since 2016, he has been lecturing at Nanyang Technological University’s Nanyang Business School, where he designed and launched a relationship management course in 2022 to equip students with practical skills in private banking and wealth management.

Outside of work and teaching, Teo is passionate about travelling and golfing—preferably combining the two on his trips.

“Travelling allows me to broaden my horizons and gain real-life education by exploring new cultures and places. Golf is a game of life. It is a perfect practice ground for learning life skills beyond the fairways, like integrity, self-discipline, resilience, patience, and decision-making,” he shared.

Teo holds a Master of Science in applied finance from the National University of Singapore and a Bachelor of Business (banking & applied economics) with merit from Nanyang Technological University.
