Audrey Kua
Managing Director, Southeast Asia Market, BNP Paribas Wealth Management
What makes Audrey Kua a Powerlist banker for Singapore is not just her more than two decades of experience in the industry, but her unwavering dedication to continually advancing her knowledge and delivering the best services to clients in the market.
Fluent in English, Chinese, and Bahasa Indonesia, Kua, the managing director at BNP Paribas Wealth Management Singapore, is equipped with three key languages to engage effectively with clients across the region.
As she explains, this trilingual ability has been invaluable in serving a diverse Southeast Asian market, whether working with an Indonesian company rooted in Central Java or a Chinese family office establishing itself in Singapore.
“Working with clients in this region’s rich tapestry of economies has allowed for significant cross-pollination of best practices and insights that can only be earned through years of working the ground,” Kua noted.
Having started her career with UBS in the mid-2000s and joining BNP Paribas in 2013, Kua is a well-known banker in the region with a strong track record. Her motivation over the past decade has been to go beyond simply meeting clients’ needs, focusing instead on delighting them with the level and quality of service and advice.
“At the same time,” Kua shared, “my clients have also been my greatest teachers. Their relentless drive is infectious, and they have so generously shared their knowledge and wisdom, which has profoundly shaped my approach to my job and my life.
“I thrive on challenges and am constantly pushing the boundaries of service and how we approach coverage for clients. I am proud to have led the bank forward into areas that extend beyond the traditional scope of private banking,” she said.
Outside of work, she is an avid coffee enthusiast who even roasts her own beans. Kua also takes great joy in cooking and feeding her family, describing it as the “love language” of her home.
Another passion of hers is giving back to the community. She serves as vice president of BNP Paribas’ Mixicity initiative, championing diversity and inclusion within the organisation.
“I have two young daughters, so I am very passionate about helping children from underprivileged backgrounds,” she said.
